    • Develop curriculum and conduct graduate level class covering sustainable architecture and its practical application. Focus is incorporating sustainability in all types of architectural projects; the use of software programs such as Green Building Advisor, EnergyPlus and others to support and enhance sustainable analytics and the implementation of the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Green Building Rating System criteria. Duties also include assisting with the Graduate Integrated Design Studio and developing seminar style coursework for computer enhanced presentation.

  • Project Manager/Director of Sustainable Design
    The Benham Companies, Inc., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
    December 1997 to present
    • Position involves the architectural design and project management of multiple projects and preparation of design-bid and design-build marketing proposals. Projects currently under design/production/construction range in price from $1.5 to $130 million. Personally responsible for multi-disciplined teams producing design and construction documents for multiple projects, client management, project financial management and outside consultant management. Also responsible for integrating sustainable design concepts throughout project development and execution for the entire company.
  • Selected Recent Project Listing
  • Command and General Staff College - a 400,000 gsf educational and administrative facility in the National Historic Landmark District at Ft. Leavenworth. The new facility will house faculty and staff and provide distance learning classrooms. The design of the building is intended to be a focal point of the post, integrate with the existing architecture and conform to the Secretary of the Interiors Standards for Historic Preservation. The project is also sustainable, achieving a Gold rating in the SPiRiT rating system based on LEED version 2.0. .
  • College of Allied Health - a 29,000 gsf facility at the University of Oklahoma's Health Sciences Center. The new facility will house the John Keyes Speech and Hearing Center with classroom facilities integrated into the University's distance learning network. The design of the building is intended to be the focal point of a new campus pedestrian mall.
  • Conoco Student Leadership Center - a 16,000 gsf addition to the existing Oklahoma Memorial Union in the center of the University of Oklahoma's historic center. The 3-story addition houses student government and student organization offices and provides space for reception, workrooms, and conferencing in addition to facilitating interaction among the many diverse student groups.
  • Army Space Command Headquarters - a 105,000 gsf building designed to coordinate with new and existing facilities at Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs. The building will enable a variety of command groups to co-locate in one facility as well as interact with other facilities within the new campus area. The building provides an extremely high level of computing and telecommunication infrastructure as well as a high level of security for its occupants and activities.
  • Aviano AFB, Italy – Special Operations Facilities – two facilities for NAVFAC, a Heavy Drop Rigging Facility and a Personnel Alert Holding Area. The projects featured a unique collaboration among the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and the Italian Government. Projects were required to be LEED Certified and represent the first industrial style buildings to do so for the U.S. Navy.

  • Project Coordinator/Network Manager
    Architectural and Engineering Services, University of Oklahoma
    September 1995 to November 1997
    • Responsible for project management of $9 million Phase I renovation of the Oklahoma Memorial Union and $2 million Phase II dining hall. Phase I project consisted of renovation and remodeling of approximately 105,000 gsf of space in an historic building in the heart of the University campus. Elements of the project included traffic studies, renovation of ballroom, auditorium, catering kitchen, and office space; development of public spaces and a learning center; modernization of MEP; abatement of asbestos hazards; fire and life safety improvements, and accommodating ADA requirements. Phase II project involved the addition of a 4,000 gsf dining hall addition utilizing construction management. Developed program for Phase III - Student Leadership Center. Worked with Campus Planner on a variety of siting, signage and other planning issues.
  • Coordinator, Departmental Computing Systems
    Architectural and Engineering Services, University of Oklahoma
    March 1987 to September 1995
    • Responsible for the design, specification, implementation and utilization of computerized systems for the department including determination of needs, and management of network systems operation and CAD facilities plan production. Additional responsibilities include coordinating specialized facilities data analysis reports with other University departments and Oklahoma State Regents, developing departmental architectural visualization capabilities and producing presentation graphics. Accomplishments include the creation of an integrated Computer Aided Design (CAD) and database Facilities Inventory system utilizing AutoCAD and dBase with data exchange links to the University mainframe. Developed in-house computer literacy and AutoCAD training programs for staff. Designed and implemented data analysis system for the University Space and Facility Planning Process which included menu input systems, report generation, and the design and analysis of space utilization models. In addition, designed and implemented the bookkeeping system for the financial management of projects administered by the department.
