The Division of Architecture offers a 5-year Bachelor of Architecture degree that is accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) and fulfills the educational prerequisites for professional registration required by most state boards.
Our location in a College that includes Construction Science, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, and Planning allows many opportunities to interact with other disciplines. These interactions range from impromptu consultations about projects to structured projects with multi-disciplinary teams.
To encourage a diverse yet focused educational experience, the degree requires a minor in a field of study chosen by the student. The minor can be closely related to the major or it can be totally unrelated to the major. Upon graduation, the student's official transcript will reflect completion of the major and minor. Most minors at the University of Oklahoma require 18 - 24 hours of coursework. Each college sets particular parameters on which students may pursue minors within the college and which courses can be counted towards fulfilling minor requirements.
Structured foreign study and preceptorship opportunities are offered and encouraged in the degree.
